Usually when you write about things/events that are oldest, you want to add the word ‘credible' to it. Oldest and most credible - it's almost a cliché. The Filmfare Awards (being the oldest film awards in India) breaks the cliché, once again.

Now that winners' list is really something else. Especially SRK's award for the Best Actor for My Name is Khan. Eh? What about Omkar Das Manikpuri (Natha of Peepli Live). Oh wait. He wasn't even nominated though Peepli Live made it to the nominations for Best Film. Of course India's entry to the Oscars was completely snubbed at Filmfare, like Inception at the Golden Globes (take heart Anusha Rizvi, it happens to the best).

What about Salman Khan? Dabangg is Salman and Salman is Dabangg. If Dabangg is Best Film, how can Salman be overlooked? Udaan, Dabangg, Ishqiya were better films then MINK. But they had a huge flaw - Karan Johar didn't make them. So there. No Filmfare for you.

As for Kajol winning Best Actress, I can only say I am glad Aishwarya didn't win it.

Awards can sometimes be Montezuma's revenge for those of us who watch films without bias.
