“It is a historic moment!!” these were the words of megastar Chiranjeevi as he was gearing up to meet the Congress high command. However, it appears that it only took 55 minutes for him to create that history as the meeting lasted for that duration and a decision was taken. But then, this moment will be going down in Chiru’s history for the wrong reasons. First in the list is the Kapu community which has got affected big time.
Apparently, the Kapu heads from the East and West made huge investments in PRP hoping that Chiru will give them that identity. At that point even the veteran Hari Rama Jogayya also put his own money thinking that he can take it later. However, no money was returned since the elections were lost. During the time of setting up the party, big statements like Benji to Ganji, Marpu Kosam, Samajika Nyayam etc were spoken but in vain.
Right now, the focus of Chiru is only for him and his brother in law Allu Aravind. But history has shown that no leader with this mentality survives in Congress. The ruling party requires a leader with strong footwork and good gift of gab but Chiru is neither. By merging his party, he has lost his credibility completely not only among his party members and workers but also among his fans too.
At this rate, it is very clear that he can’t sustain in his political career with this approach. The next step for him is retirement only. Politics requires a different mindset and attitude and that is something Allu Aravind has got so he may perpetuate in this field but Chiru cannot. At the end of the day, Chiru has not only fooled those who trusted him but himself as well. The day is not far when he would announcing his retirement and this will happen by 2011 end.
